The Swan’s Egg
A Student Journal of Hans Christian Andersen Studies
Founded in 2020, The Swan’s Egg is a publication of the Hans Christian Andersen Centre at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. As suggested by our title, we strive to create a virtual environment in which students of Andersen at any level of study (BA, MA, or PhD) can share their work on the author as it develops.
Deadline: April 1, 2022
The editors of The Swan’s Egg invite submissions for the journal’s second volume. Essays on Hans Christian Andersen by undergraduate, MA, and PhD students written in English or in Danish are welcome, and should be around 4,000 words in length. Authors are kindly asked to follow the 17th edition of The Chicago Manual of Style guidelines for “Notes and Bibliography” (chapter 14). The preferred method of citation is footnotes, and a bibliography is not necessary. To submit an essay for consideration, or to ask for any clarification of our editorial requirements or policies, please contact us at theswansegg@gmail.com.
